HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! I hope all you dads are having an amazing day! Paul is off this week, and I am joined by Ryan Matta to discuss the upcoming Annual Meeting of the New Champions – the Summer Davos meeting of the World Economic Forum – in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China on June 27-29, 2023.
The tone and focus of Summer Davos are markedly different than in prior years. In 2018 and 2019, globalists were bullish on China as they “encouraged” businesses to transform their supply chains and prioritize access to Chinese markets. These efforts were positioned as the “China Imperative,” or the requirement of leveraging China to stay competitive and innovative in the global economy. Post COVID, globalists are still bullish on China – but the conversation has been reframed as an imperative for global economic recovery.
Join Ryan and me as we review the old talking points against the new, and discuss what the “China Imperative” means for every day Americans.
