Tina Peters renewed her motion for bond pending appeal and filed a motion to disqualify Matthew Barrett on Wednesday. Barrett ordered the government to respond.
This was expected. Peter Ticktin, counsel for Tina Peters, join Ryan Schuiling and I on RSL Tuesday, and said the motions were imminent.
We’ve also been speculating about whether or not Peters has abandoned her appeal of the Presidential Pardon. I asked Ticktin that directly:
Ashe: “Back in Dec, when you originally were talking about this effort, you stated that the goal was to bring that question of pardon power…to [SCOTUS]. Is that still the plan?”
Ticktin: “Absolutely. Yes. We never, never for a moment, left that idea behind.”
That action is on hold pending the outcome of the motion for a rehearing that Peters filed last week. You can listen to the interview on RSL here:
