I disagree with this "The 1980 US Olympic Hockey team were change makers." It was memorable, but it didn't change our culture. The US Olympic participation shortly thereafter changed because we started letting professionals compete. Which had nothing to do with the hockey teams win.
Agree to disagree. They changed the sentiment of our nation when it sorely needed hope. They didn’t change the culture of sport or the Olympics. They changed the hearts and minds of the people. Thats why we’re still talking about them 44 years later. God bless!
